Open source
Free as in free software
Covo is licensed under the GNU GPL v3.0 only. No paid tier, no account, nothing held back for a pro version.
The code
The app, the core and the CLI live in getcovo/covo. The repository opens to the public with the beta; until then it's being prepared for it. The binaries Covo builds itself (Xdebug, PostgreSQL, Redis, the older PHP versions) are built in the open by GitHub Actions in getcovo/covo-binaries, and published there with their checksums.
This website is open source too: code under the GPL-3.0, text under CC BY-SA 4.0. The Covo name and logo are not covered by those licences; TRADEMARKS.md explains what you can do with them.
What Covo ships with
Covo stands on the shoulders of these projects. It downloads each one from its official source and checks it against a pinned SHA-256 before use.

Helping out
Bug reports, fixes and docs are all welcome. CONTRIBUTING.md covers how to build Covo and run its tests, and the code of conduct applies everywhere the project lives. Found a security problem? Please read the security policy first and don't open a public issue.
